The Coconut Research Institute (CRI) has organized a series of specialized training programs for 2026, targeting coconut growers, processors, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts.

The Coconut Research Institute of Sri Lanka is proud to announce that it has won the Silver Award at the Best Annual Report and Accounts – 2023 competition, organized by the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL), the Public Sector Wing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. This prestigious award recognizes our commitment to accountability, good governance and transparency in the management of our financial resources.
The Annual Report for 2023 was praised for its clear presentation of financial performance, adherence to best practices in governance, and our ongoing efforts to ensure that public funds are utilized efficiently and effectively. This recognition reflects our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity, as well as our commitment to providing clear and transparent information to our stakeholders. This achievement reinforces our ongoing commitment to excellence in both research and organizational management, ensuring that the Coconut Research Institute continues to serve as a leader in the coconut industry and a model of good governance in the public sector.

Professor Ajith Jayaweera assumed the role of Chairman at the Coconut Research Institute of Sri Lanka, bringing over 25 years of academic and research expertise to the position. As a professor in the Department of Animal Science and Nutrition at the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, Prof. Jayaweera is widely recognized for his contributions to both higher education and research in Sri Lanka. He has served as a visiting lecturer at several leading Sri Lankan universities and pioneered the development of a Higher Diploma Program in Teaching Methodology for school educators. Prof. Jayaweera has earned international recognition for his contributions to higher education, including accreditation as a Senior Teacher in Higher Education by the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA), UK, in 2017.
Prof. Jayaweera has authored over 90 peer-reviewed research papers and 21 books focused on higher education, teaching methodology, and agricultural sciences. Prof. Jayaweera is also the developer of innovative software tools for animal feed formulation, widely used by feed producers across Sri Lanka. He has also served as the President of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) Section B (Agriculture and Forestry). His extensive experience and vision will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and innovation at the Coconut Research Institute of Sri Lanka.

The 60th Session and Ministerial Meeting of the International Coconut Community (ICC) was held at the Hilton Hotel, Colombo from 25 to 27 November 2024 with the participation of Ministers and delegates from 21 member countries and representatives of international partner and observer organizations. The delegates of this meeting visited the Coconut Research Institute on 28th November 2024. For these delegates, an exhibition was held at the Coconut Research Institute with the participation of sister organizations, Coconut Cultivation Board, Coconut Development Authority, Chilaw Plantations Ltd and Kurunegala Plantations Ltd to showcase the role of these organizations in the coconut sector.

இலங்கையின் தெங்குத் துறையின் தற்போதைய நிலை, தென்னைத் துறையில் இலங்கையின் தற்போதைய பொருளாதார நிலைமையின் தாக்கங்களை அடையாளம் காணல் மற்றும் தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனம் மற்றும் சர்வதேச தென்னை சம்மேளனம் ஆகியவற்றுக்கு இடையிலான முக்கிய வேலைத்திட்டங்களின் தேர்ச்சி குறித்து கலந்துரையாடுவதே இந்த விஜயத்தின் பிரதான நோக்கங்களாகும்.
இலங்கையின் தற்போதைய பொருளாதார நெருக்கடியின் போது தென்னைத் துறையை அபிவிருத்தி செய்வதற்கு சர்வதேச தென்னை சம்மேளனம் மற்றும் ஏனைய சர்வதேச அமைப்புகளின் தேவையான வசதிகள் மற்றும் ஆதரவைப் பற்றி கலந்துரையாடுவதற்கு மேலதிக செயலாளர் திருமதி. டி.எஸ்.விஜேசேகர , பணிப்பாளர் (கொள்கை மற்றும் செயற்பாடு) திருமதி சுரேகா அத்தநாயக்க, பெருந்தோட்ட அமைச்சின் பணிப்பாளர் (அபிவிருத்தி) திருமதி கே.எம்.பி.டி கருணாசேன தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி சபையின் தவிசாளர் வைத்திய கலாநிதி. சாரங்க அழகப்பெரும, தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தின் பணிப்பாளர் (பதில் கடமை)கலாநிதி.லலித் பெரேரா மற்றும் ஏனைய தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவன உத்தியோகத்தர்கள், தெங்கு அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபையின் தவிசாளர் திரு. கீர்த்தி ஸ்ரீ வீரசிங்க , பணிப்பாளர் (சந்தைப்படுத்தல்) திரு. சம்பத் சமரவிக்ரம, பணிப்பாளர் (செயற்பாட்டு அபிவிருத்தி) திரு. பீ. எதிரிமான்னே, தென்னைப் பயிர்ச்செய்கைச் சபையின் உதவிப் பொது முகாமையாளர் (பயிற்சி) திரு டபிள்யூ. எம். ரத்நாயக்க ஆகியோேர் தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவன வளாகத்தில் கூடியிருந்தார்கள்.

LK டொமைன் ரெஜிஸ்ட்ரியால் நடாத்தப்பட்ட Bestweb.lk 2022 போட்டியில் இலங்கை தென்னை ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவன இணையத்தளம் இலங்கையின் ‘சிறந்த அரசாங்க இணையதளம்’ என பெயரிடப்பட்டது.

சிறந்த குடிமக்கள் சேவைக்கான இணையதளப் பிரிவில் வெள்ளி விருதை நாம் பெற்றுள்ளோம். இந்த ஆண்டு இந்த பிரிவில் CRISL மட்டுமே விருது பெற்றுள்ளதால் இந்த விருது தனித்துவம் வாய்ந்ததாக காணப்படுகிறது. மேலும் இந்த ஆண்டுக்கான ஒட்டுமொத்த போட்டியில் வெண்கல விருதை பெற்றுள்ளோம் என்பதை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.

இலங்கையில் உள்ள 500 சர்வதேச அளவிலான இணையத்தளங்களில் CRISL இந்த விருதை வென்றது. மேலும் இந்த பிரிவினில் விருதை வென்ற ஒரே அரசாங்க அமைப்பு CRI ஆகும். விருது வழங்கும் வைபவம் 2022, ஆகஸ்ட் 30 ஆம் திகதி அன்று சினமன் கிராண்ட் ஹோட்டலில் நடைபெற்றது.
